2015:EAB

Listen up everyone. I sometimes feel like “the boy who cried wolf” as I rant about the coming of Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). It arrived in CT two years ago in the Northwest corner of New Haven County. It moves quickly and is active now in eastern Fairfield County. This picture comes from an ash we took down last week in Monroe. The galleries you see are from the larvae of EAB that feed just under the bark. With this amount of galleries we guess the tree has been infested for at least a year. All ash, if not treated quickly, will die. If you have an ash tree that you want to keep, contact us.Emerald Ash Borer
